I actually compose more than what you see here. Most of them are unfinished, and I don't like putting up unfinished work. I'm trying to finish them, though, because this is a horrible representation of what I do.

I started working on this and didn't know what else to do with it, so I set it aside for a while. Eight months later, I came back to it and decided that it was finished.

I harmonized the well-known Gregorian chant called Dies Irae, partly as a joke and partly because it got stuck in my head. (score)

My interpretation of the Christmas carol Joy to the World in Dorian mode.

A little something I worked on over the summer. The ending might hurt your ears. Turn down the volume on your headphones at the end, because I'm too lazy to go back and fix it.

I worked on this on and off from January until November. Thanks to Justin Lo, who let me record him playing the violin.

Assignment for electronic music class.

This was an assignment for my electronic music class. All the sounds were created from scratch using Max patches (noise filtration and FM synthesis).

This was an assignment for my electronic music class. I used different sorts of feedback noises I created with a speaker and microphone, and edited it using delays and reverbs.

This is a pretty silly improvisation I did in about an hour. It's seven vocal tracks of yours truly.

This is an improvisation I did in about 30-45 minutes.

I wrote this quartet for a class. It's supposed to be a "slow movement" that has an ABA' form; we only did the AB part, so imagine that it returns to the main theme afterwards. (flute: Lori Huberman, violin: Justin Lo, viola: Katie Matlack. Sadly, I don't remember the cellist's name.)

A piano piece written for class. This is a recording of my computer playing it, so it's not very musical. It attempts to do dynamics, but it doesn't understand the concept of a crescendo or diminuendo, resulting in abrupt dynamic changes.

This was a final project for theory class.

Would you like some peanuts? This one's crappy, but here's why I did it.

This was a final project for my first music theory class. It was written for violin, viola, clarinet, and cello. It was sightread by a small student ensemble.

This is an actual mainstream-like song. I know I'm not the best vocalist out there. Click for more info.

This was an introduction to something I was planning on writing, but just as it came to the beginning of the theme, I got bored.

It's so creepy sounding, I love it!

This is probably one of the most coherent things I've ever written. It's one of my favorites.

This is my first composition, and it's still one of my favorites.

This one's unfinished. It was a nice idea, but then I got bored with it, messed it up, tried to fix it, and just left it at that.

I mercilessly copied Bach's style. But that got me nowhere, and figuring that I could never make it slightly interesting, I ended it.

I stuck a bunch of atonal notes together one night, then fixed it up the next morning into something slightly tolerable.

This sounds really unoriginal. In fact, I hope I haven't subconsciously copied anyone.

Yay!! I really like this one! It reminds me of a haunted house or something.. I like the creepy middle part. I discovered how to use different instruments while doing this. Yay me!

I found a Spanish poem so I decided to make a song for it... pretty short and cute (maybe a bit too cute). Here are the words, heh.
